Share a broadband connection with your mobile device

Data plans on mobile devices are pretty costly these days, but wired broadband internet is still quite cheap. So today I will show you how you can share your broadband.

The first method is via WiFi. So you need a laptop/desktop with a wireless card ( all laptops have it in-built ). You don't require a wireless router.

So the software we are going to use is Connectify. It is available in both free and paid versions. Connectify will create a WiFi network using your wired internet and your mobile device will connect to that network and have access to internet. But for the WiFi network to be active your laptop has to be switched on with Connectify running. Connectify also allows you to send files to the clients connected to the network.

Now if you don't have a WiFi card on your desktop, you can use the second method.

The second method is via USB. Here we are going to use an android app known as Reverse Tether. This will allow to share your internet with the android device by connecting it to the desktop via its USB cable.
The app contains all the details of how to connect your device.
